How did you arrive with your ideas?
How effective was your research in informing your ideas?
My research has help with my ideas because first of all I done a Questionnaire which helped me find out what people think and what people thought about my ideas and show that it is worth me doing my idea because it will be watched and listen too. Also I research on other cover music video and this helped me because it showed me what other people have done to the two songs. When i research over cover music video to Black Eye Peas I quite like the fact that someone handed out food to homeless people but I didn't not feel comfortable in doing this because I would have got to get permission and I did not think they would want to be in it.
How did you develop your idea into a finished media product?
After I done all the research I then had to do the paperwork around it, this was quite easy and I got it done in quite quick time. The thing that took the longest was the filming and making of the two music videos, first of all when starting to make the How Will I know cover music video I was going to do a drawing of a girl looking to the side and then cutting out letters from magazines, newspapers and birthday cards and place each letter down to create the song lyrics but when I started making this I did not think that it looked right and personally thought it looked a bit tacky. Then I thought of drawing lots of different drawing in which will correspond to the lyrics of the music video and at the chorus I will just place a blank background and right the lyrics on it. This is what idea I done and it worked pretty well. The once I done the animation video I started to do my Black Eye Pea music video, the first time I filmed my videos it did not turn put to well because I filmed them on my Ipad which is bad because when editing on IMovie the video have a black square around them and they look awful and unprofessional. Then I had to film it on a camera because then there will be no black squares. Also because I had to film it again I could not get all my actors/actresses to be in it again because most of them wore busy. Then when I managed to collect and take videos of enough actors/actresses I started to edit the music video in IMovie. When I started editing I released I had filmed a scene for to long and it was very slow, I tried to speed the scene up but I thought it look really bad and did not look as effective as it did when it was normal speed. Also my teacher said it would look better sped up but then I explained that it goes with my story line because the girl is supposed to look upset and its supposed to look like she has very little energy and even though the song is upbeat it still goes with my story line so that is why I did not speed the first couple of scenes up.Then when I got to the last scene which is where a little girl is miming the words to the song it was really hard to match her miming to the actually words to the song and I could not manage to get it to the exact time because it would muck up the whole video.
Did you change your plan and why?
I did change my plan because the my original idea from my How Will I know Music video did not seem as effective as I thought it would turn out like, this is why I have loads of different pictures instead of just on same picture through my music video. Also I have changed my Black Eye Peas music video because I said I would put different people holding up the heart which is on a piece of paper in each chorus but in the first chorus I changed this because the first couple of scenes I planned to do was longer than I expected, but I have put all the people i took Holding up the heart on a piece of paper in the other two chorus.
What elements of your Final Major Project were most successful?
I think the most successful element of my FMP was the actually ideas and the story behind the Black Eye Peas cover music video because it goes well with the song which is about little ones suffering and how people suffer and also I do like the idea of different people which are holding up the heart because not only does it show different types of people it also show there personality sometimes to.
What elements of your Final Major project need further development?
I could make my How Will I know Music video have more pictures instead of only having pictures at the start because then it would look much better and would be more entertaining for the audience.
What elements of your Final Major Project would you change and why?
If I had to do my FMP over again I would maybe change and do the animation music video with dolls or little lego figures because I do no think that anyone has done that in the charts recently and it might be interesting for the audience to see some thing different and might be really exciting to make and create.
Overall how satisfied are you with your Final Major Project?
I am rather proud of my FMP because I did not think I could make it the way it has come out and also I am really proud then when doing my FMP I managed to learn how to do IMovie because I did not know how to use it properly before. I am also satisfied that I managed to gather as many people as I did for my Black Eye Peas Cover music video.
What have you learnt from doing your Final Major Project and what would you do differently next time?
I have learnt from doing my FMP I should not leave the filming to the last minute and I should leave some of the course work till last instead of getting all that done then leaving the filming, this is because I have came across many problems with my filming and I was getting stressed and worried I would not mange to get my editing done in time. When I do it next time I will defiantly make sure I have plenty of time to film and edit the music video because I don't want to be rushing again and again.
